Savuto Superiore
‘Savuto Superiore’DOC comes from a late harvest from the oldest vineyards of the company .It’s the result of the union between the native grapes Magliocco 80% (Arvino) and Greco Nero 20%. Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. A complex mixed bouquet of red fleshy and ripe fruits like cherries and plums. Hints of sweet spices, cinnamon and nutmeg with a final that recalls licorice. Full-bodied and well-balanced wine with a mineral taste typical of this territory. Sweet and delicate tannins make the wine harmonious. The aftertaste is a mix of ripe fruits and spices with a persistent flavor.
All these elements create a product with a great personality perfect for long ageing.
Savuto Superiore ideally accompanies roast, grilled meat and braised beef. Great wine for meditation.

2 Viti – Savuto Superiore, 2013
“Transparent ruby. To the nose the smoky note goes behind a lively herbaceous and then the ripe fruit which are cherries and ribes. The black pepper follows us towards a delicate and elegant flavour, where the tannin is smooth and affects us with a good balance between warmth and freshness. Tonneau for 30 months. “

“Savuto Superiore” wine: points 88/100
”The grapes to produce the best wine come from a mix of 3 types of oldest varieties: the 50 years old native vines developed in “Vigna Carita di Altilia” (500m sea level); the almost 30 years old native vines from “Vigna Bitto” in Marzi and the youngest native vines from “Vigna Vasci” of Grimaldi.
Intense rubygarnet in colour, it has a distinct nose of aromatic and herbaceous, also it displays a delicate oak bark aroma and red spices. It is a pleasure to sip, warm and refined with balanced tannins and good acidity. All this make the wine “light” on the palate.
This is a full body wine accompanied by distinctly spicy and fruity notes.
